A Mother’s Strength and a Call to Stand With Her

A few days ago, we shared a joyful video from our DKF Njabini Tree Nursery women singing gospel songs as they worked, their voices full of hope despite the weight many of them silently carry. Among them was a young woman who led one of the songs with a smile so bright you would never imagine the storm she was walking through.

That same evening, after spending the entire day working at the nursery, she went into labor and safely delivered her baby.

A new life entered the world but into a situation already stretched beyond its limits.

Her Story, Quiet Strength in the Midst of Hardship

She is now a mother of seven children.
Her husband left six months ago for Narok in search of greener pastures. Not out of irresponsibility this is a family grounded in faith, a couple that even solemnized their union in church. She has been a believer since her Sunday School days. But life, in its unpredictable turns, has not been kind.

Yesterday, we sent Shiru to visit her, assess the situation, and deliver food supplies to sustain her for at least a week. What she found was a mother doing everything she can to hold her family together, even as her strength is stretched thin.

This is not a story of failure.
It is a story of resilience, faith, and unseen battles.

Let Us Stand With Her

At Dedan Kimathi Foundation, we believe in the power of community. We believe that no mother should walk alone, especially one who has given so much of herself.

For the next one month, we want to support her as she regains strength and prepares to resume her daily hustle. This is the kind of support that restores dignity, hope, and stability.

If you feel moved to help this great mother, you can send your support through our
TILL NO: 3514672 (DEDAN KIMATHI).

Your contribution no matter the size will go directly toward:

  • Feeding her children
  • Clothing the newborn
  • Medical care for mother and baby
  • Basic household needs
  • Stability as she recovers

Every act of kindness becomes a seed of hope.

Why This Matters

This mother sang with joy at the nursery even when life was heavy. She worked until the very day she gave birth.

She continues to believe, to hope, and to push forward.

Supporting her is not charity it is solidarity.
It is choosing to be the hands and feet of compassion.

Be Part of Her Story

Your support today can change the next chapter of her life.
Let us come together as a community that uplifts, protects, and empowers.

Let’s stand with her. Let’s stand for dignity. Let’s stand for hope.
