Growing a Greener Future Together | DKF Partners with Kahawa Barracks School of Transport
Today, Dedan Kimathi Foundation (DKF) team joined hands with the Kenya Defence Forces at the Kahawa Barracks School of Transport, advancing our shared mission of environmental restoration and sustainability.
In a day marked by teamwork, purpose, and dedication, 7,000 Cypress pricks were transferred from seedbed to tree nursery. The team participated in pricking the same, significantly raising the number of seedlings in the nursery to an impressive number, comprising both indigenous and exotic species.

The team also took part in potting, weeding, and watering to promote healthy seedling growth a hands-on expression of our enduring commitment to environmental stewardship.
Notably, DKF CEO Evelyn Kimathi was among the team on the ground. Her dedicated leadership and active participation continue to serve as a brave statement of commitment toward making the earth greener. Through her example, she inspires others to take bold, practical steps in the global fight against climate change.
This initiative supports the Kenya Defence Forces’ long-term goal of cultivating 250,000 seedlings in their newly established tree nursery , a vision that aligns closely with DKF’s broader mission to promote environmental sustainability and community-driven conservation.

At DKF, we remain steadfast in our support for the nursery and its long-term sustainability. Together with our partners, we are nurturing not only seedlings but also a culture of environmental responsibility that will protect Kenya’s natural heritage for generations to come.
🌿 With courage, commitment, and collaboration — we grow for Kenya.
