The team provided 400 more tree seedlings to Kiambogo ACC’s camp to boost the tree cover in the premises as the camp has proved its commitment to tree growing owing to 98% survival rate of the trees planted in May this year. AIC Kiambogo Church benefitted with 100 trees from the program.

In the entire series, the team encouraged teachers to assist the pupils and students to adopt the trees and water them as their own.
This was after the Foundation team leaders took the participants through the benefits arising from the trees, negative climate change effects and how tree planting is a good way of mitigating the change.

The pupils and students were highly pleased to take part in the tree planting and acting as agents of change towards climate change mitigation through the same.

Elementaita Ward MCA, Hon. George Nene, promised to make sure the beneficiary schools acquire water tanks donations from allies of his office to store sufficient water for watering of the trees while the Zonal Curriculum Support Officer Ms. Monica Njohi appreciated the team and assured that she would keep an eye on the tree growing progress of the trees planted.

Dedan Kimathi Foundation Chief Executive Officer Madam Evelyn Kimathi, sent her word to the beneficiaries assuring them that she would be available to support them in the tree growing anytime. She stated tree growing as her one way of appreciating nature and the forests for shielding freedom fighters during the freedom struggle.
