Maina Kageni visits Dedan Kimathi’s Wife Mukami

Famous radio host Maina Kageni of Classic FM accompanied by a team from ‘Tembea Tujenge Kenya’ visited Mukami Kimathi wife to the veteran freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi. This did not only reflect our present generations’ recognition to our fallen heroes and their current living families but rather they cherish the hard-earned freedom struggles that set our country free from colonial invasion.

The team had scheduled to visit Nyandarua County but had in mind the passion to visit the late freedom fighter’s wife Mukami Kimathi for blessings as she remains the symbol of Kenya’s freedom fighters.
Tembea Tujenge Kenya project is an initiative to identify and promote these existing destinations for Kenyans. Duly encouraging domestic tourism – Kenya for Kenyans. In doing so they reduce dependency on foreign markets for tourism income and ensure sustainable tourism in Kenya.

Maina Kageni couldn’t hide his excitement after he visited Dedan Kimathi’s wife Mukami. Shortly later, Maina Kageni joined Dedan Kimathi Foundation’s chief executive Evelyn Kimathi in planting a tree to mark his remarkable visit and his team. He then visited the DKF’s mega tree nursery which has different types of indigenous tree seedlings. To this effect Maina Kageni and his team were heartily amused not only by the beauty of Nyandarua County but also the landmark blueprint of DKF’s conservational etiquette.

Below is what Maina Kegeni quoted on social media;

“Had the honour and the privilege of visiting the homestead of Dedan Kimathi who was the leader of Mau Mau, Kenya’s armed independence movement.
His 93-year-old wife released blessings upon us as we began our tour of Nyandarua County.”
