Today, 3rd August 2022, Dedan Kimathi Foundation C.E.O- Evelyn Kimathi- together with a fraction of the foundation environment conservation team received 100,000 potting bags from the Kenya Forestry Research Institute Central Highlands regional headquarters at Muguga-Kiambu.

This donation is part of the Economic Stimulus Support by KeFRI to support private nurseries, NGOs CBOs to grow more seedlings to reinforce the Kenya Forest Service nurseries to meet the high demand for seedlings towards the actualization of the 30% tree cover by the year 2050.

In the brief handing over ceremony, KeFRI Regional Director Dr. Mutitu urged the present stakeholders to ask for technical support and seedlings raising any time they need it at no charge.

This boost came in good time to help the nurseries to prepare adequately ahead of the November rains for the 2nd season of the major tree planting series.

The foundation sends a word of appreciation to the institute and the government at large for steps they are laying to combat climate change through tree cover increase.
